Where is the Cottage located?
- The cottage is 3km from downtown Fenelon Falls, in the heart of the beautiful Kawarthas, 90 minutes from the GTA, 75 minutes from Durham and 60 minutes from Peterborough.
What lake are you on?
- Sturgeon Lake, a 25km long Y-shaped lake with Fenelon, Lindsay and Bobcaygeon at its 3 points. The Lake is fully motorized and forms part of the Trent-Severn navigation system.
How many bedrooms do you have?
- Four. They comprise Two queens, One double and One bunk bed rooms – all off the open plan living area.
How many people comfortably fit in the cottage?
- The cottage sleeps 8 comfortably. A pull-out sofa bed is available for additional guests to a maximum of 10.
How many bathrooms?
- One 3-piece bathroom with an oversized shower and a treated water system.
Is the access road plowed in winter?
- Yes. It is a municipality owned road and is regularly plowed.
Are pets allowed?
- Yes. They must be on a leash outdoors. They must be picked up afterwards. They must be house trained. They must stay off the furniture. House rules!
What species of fish are in the lake.
- Bass, Walleye, Pike, Muskie and Trout
Is the cottage near snowmobile and ATV trails?
- Yes. The 138km long Kawartha Highlands Snowmobile Tour starts and ends in Fenelon Falls.
- For ATVers, the ever-popular Victoria Rail Trail Corridor (VRTC) is an 85 km rail trail, linking Kinmount to Bethany, through Fenelon Falls and Lindsay. The VRTC is owned and administered by the City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL). This scenic rail trail is divided into 3 sections for easy access.

What is our check in/out time?
- Check in 4pm and Check out 11am, unless otherwise agreed with owner.
Do you provide water craft and life jackets?
- We have 2 x Kayaks, Canoe and a Row boat.
- We have a variety of life jackets, but we recommend bringing your own if you require a special size.
How will we get into the cottage upon arrival?
- The cottage is fitted with an electronic keypad and the code will be included in the Guest Information package we send you 7 days before your vacation starts.
How do I make a reservation?
- Once you have decided on available dates we will send you a contract to fill out and return, along with 50% of the total rental.
- The other 50% will be due 28 days before check-in, along with a refundable $750 security deposit.
What is your cancellation policy?
- Cancellations must be in writing. If some, or all of the dates can be re-booked, you will receive a refund, prorated, less a administration fee of $150.00 CAD per week. If the accommodation cannot be rebooked, you forfeit all monies paid.
Do you provide bedding?
- We do under normal circumstances. We provide pillows, sheets and coverlets plus spare blankets. However, at this time we are asking our guests to bring their own.
How long does it take to receive my security deposit back?
- The contract states 7 days. Typically, it has never taken longer than 24 hours providing that the cottage and its contents are undamaged.
Is the lake swimmable?
- Absolutely!!! We recommend water shoes as there are rocks though.
